About Us

James and I met on a wonderful little application called AIM in April of 2009, when I was fifteen and he was seventeen. We talked for a mere five days before making it official, falling for each other faster than imaginable. We have been in a long distance relationship since the day we started dating, living approximately three hours away from each other, seeing each other about once every two months, sometimes more and sometimes less. The numbers 12 21 represent us because they are our favorite numbers put together.

3 years.

Last Friday, we celebrated three years of being together.

First off, these are the gifts we gave each other.

He gave me this enchanting Juicy Couture perfume, along with other things.

I gave him a little handmade notebook full of short love poems, along with other things.

He woke me up with the smell of cinnamon buns.

We went out to have a picnic for lunch.

We had this one-of-a-kind view to enjoy while eating.

As expected, we took some pictures afterward to pass some time.

We had a lot of fun.

After our very tiring expedition, we finally came inside where James made us chicken parmesan for dinner.

Kittles also made an appearance to see what all our fun was about.

I put on a little playlist in the background while waiting for the master chef. Full of both happy tunes and some of those sappy love songs.

While waiting for the oven to do its job, I started setting up the table with an ocean-scented candle (a gift from earlier) and some little makeshift signs to decorate.

Dinner is served!

After dinner I turned up the volume on my laptop and we danced to a sweet song called Such Great Heights by Iron & Wine.

We ended the night with cuddling under a blanket on the trampoline while watching the sunset and then coming back inside for ice cream once it became just an orange glow above the horizon.

It was a really great day.

A film about us, about what it's like when you leave, how it's hard for me to function sometimes.

Valentine's Day & Other Things

Our Valentine's attire and my beautiful ruby (my birthstone) and diamond heart necklace I received that day. He gave me that along with a note of 100 things he loves about me, some other love notes, and some chocolate.

He received from me lots of candy (including gummy bears - his favorite), a Robin t-shirt (one of the few superheroes he didn't own a shirt of), stuffed animals, two cards with my heart pouring out through them, and some very special stones I found in a local Native American store. There were three that represented joy, love, and peace.

We went to the mall that day to eat some mid-day ice cream, use up all our dollar bills at an arcade, and take pictures in a little photobooth. For dinner we went to Panera then settled down at home to watch Imagine Me and You while cuddled in bed.

My Valentine's Day breakfast for him.

I made him nutella sandwich cookies the night he had to go out and take the 5 hour course. Sadly, the recipe only made twelve cookies and they were gone the next day.

I had to work the day he left and couldn't see him off. When I came home later that night, I was met with a pile of flannel shirts on my bed and a tear-inducing note.
